Morehead State University
This 10-story dormitory was originally built in the 1970’s and no longer met the needs of today’s student. The aggressive schedule included renovating the 10-story, 96-unit building in 12 months. That meant we had to go from initial building analysis to final documents in less than four months. With meticulous planning and project management, we were able to adhere to their schedule and received bids on time.
The renovation included a complete tear out and replacement of all bathrooms, casework, flooring, finishes and HVAC equipment. Electrical systems designed in 1970 came nowhere near to meeting today’s power requirements and building codes. The entire system was upgraded to include a new wireless internet system, as well as enough outlets for everyone to have a computer, stereo and refrigerator.
