Morgan County Elementary School and School Board Office (Temporary)
Morgan County was devastated when an EF3 tornado ripped through the community on March 2, 2012. The existing Morgan County Elementary School and School Board Office were both destroyed, so a plan of action had to be implemented immediately.
Murphy Group Architects was on site the next morning and had plans sketched for a temporary elementary school and board office the same day. Crews worked 24-hours-a-day to restore a sense of normalcy for residents. The elementary school and board office were designed and constructed in seven days, which is why the project was named “Miracle on the Hill”. The entire project is proof of a community that was battered but not broken.
