The Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) Laboratory #2 is a state-of-the-art energy research facility. Being one of only a few institutions in the country to conduct federal energy research, the CAER facility is a LEED Gold Certified building. In fact, CAER was the first LEED Gold Laboratory building on the University of Kentucky’s campus.
The two-story structure houses research laboratories for Biofuels, Solar, Battery and Materials development. Each lab had specific infrastructure needs that required extensive coordination with the principal researchers.
